Pleasure to meet you! I am from Brazil, where I completed medical school and pediatric residency at University of Sao Paulo - USP. Before moving to Canada in 2002, I was the Chief Resident at the Pediatric Specialties at the Children Institute of HC-FMUSP in Sao Paulo. During my first 2 years in Canada I was at The Hospital for Sick Children – Toronto, working as a clinical fellow at the Pediatric Academic Multi-Organ Transplantation (PAMOT) program. I started working at the Halton region in 2005 and never left, I currently have privileges at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital - OTMH. Although general pediatrics has always been my first love, I also have a special interest in GI and developmental pediatrics. It has been a long, but worthwhile journey, and has brought me where I am today. I am passionate about working with children. My husband and I have been blessed with three awesome girls, Zarah, Zurie, and Zoey. You can imagine all the giggling and screaming in our house. I am also a nature lover and never miss the opportunity to go for a bike ride with my girls on a sunny day!
Hello Families! I’m Dr. Dhekney, though most of my patients call me Dr. D. I grew up in Pickering, Ontario and went to McMaster University for undergrad before traveling to Michigan where I completed medical school at Wayne State University, graduating in 2010. I completed my pediatrics residency training at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and was a Chief Resident of Quality Improvement at the Medical College of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee. I stayed on at the Medical College of Wisconsin for another year, as Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program while also working in the Emergency Department at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. My husband and I were missing home and decided to move back to Canada in 2015 where I worked in Woodbridge, Ontario until 2020. Given that our family lives in Oakville, I decided to transition to Tiny Oaks Pediatrics. We have three children and a dog and enjoy spending our time outdoors, baking with the kids and taking walks on our Oakville trails. Hope to meet with you soon!
My name is Marvin and I'm a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist. I completed my undergrad degree at Ryerson University and a Masters degree at York University. During the day you can find me supporting the mental health and well-being of youth and their families at the Peel District School Board. I also partner with Tiny Oaks to provide private counselling sessions to address various mental/social/emotional concerns. My wife and I have three wonderful children, a few reptiles, and a handsome chocolate labradoodle named Milo! Together we enjoy the outdoors, animals and travelling. I look forward to meeting you one day and feel free to inquire about my reptiles!
Hello, I am Sandy. Born and raised right her in Oakville where I have studied and have specialized in working with children throughout many years whether being a nanny or running my own daycare and working with nonprofit organizations such as Child Find Canada. I have always been interested in the medical field and love to learn and help others! When I am not working, I enjoy family time, especially with my daughter! We enjoy family gatherings, entertaining friends and taking nice long road trips to venture our great beautiful country and see some of God’s most precious creations! I also enjoy attending health seminars to continue my learning journey! It is a pleasure to serve you and our community!
Hello! I am so glad to have the opportunity to be your pediatrician! Originally, I am from Wisconsin, in the U.S., which is where I trained in medicine and practiced. I love guiding families through the ins and outs of their child’s health and development. When I am not working, I adore being a parent to my beautiful, strong-willed daughter, doing yoga, traveling with my family and taking my dog for long nature walks.
FAREWELL NOTE
With mixed emotions, I wish to inform you that I will be closing my practice at Tiny Oaks Pediatrics. I will not be in the clinic as of November 6th, 2020, but I will take virtual visits until the end of November 2020. My husband, daughter and I will be moving back to the U.S. I recognize that changing physicians may be stressful. Dr. Kalindi Dhekney and Dr. Any Pfeiffer at Tiny Oaks Pediatrics, will accept some of my patients. If you have an appointment booked after my last date, please call to discuss your options. Your medical records will automatically remain at Tiny Oaks Pediatrics or with Dr. Dhekney or with Dr. Pfeiffer, unless I receive written authorization from you to transfer them to another physician. If you find a new physician, I can transfer the records for you until November 2020.
I will miss seeing of my patients and parents, who I enjoyed caring for dearly! Thank you for sharing your child’s smiles (sometimes tears), and growth with me. I truly wish you all the best!
